Getting There

Collioure is only 26km from Perpignan which is well serviced by air and by high-speed trains from Paris, London and beyond. Those with more time may wish to drive to Collioure, either via the superb network of French autoroutes, or take a more leisurely journey via the back-roads of rural France.

Air Travel
The Perpignan-Rivesaltes airport is located 7km north of the city centre. It is served by Air France from Paris, Ryanair from Stanstead, and FlyBE from Birmingham or Southhampton. The airport has car rental offices for Europcar, HertzAvis, and Budget. If you live outside France, it is almost always cheaper to book your rental car from your home country.

If you arrive late in the day you may want to stay overnight in one of the airport hotels. There is a Novotel, a Mercure and an Ibis hotel all on the same campus close to the airport and the A9, with free shuttle bus to and from the airport.

The alternative airport for Collioure is the delightful and historic Spanish city of Girona which is served by over 30 airlines including British Midland, Ryanair, Britannia, Iberia, Lufthansa, Alitalia, and Swiss Air. Girona is 100km by road from Collioure which can be driven in about 1 hour via the E15/A9 Autoroute to Le Boulou and then on the D618 and N114 to Collioure.

By Train
Perpignan has several services a day on the high-speed TGV (up to 300km per hour) from Paris. The journey time is 4 hours 45 minutes. You can then either pick up a rental car in Perpignan and drive to Collioure or alternatively, take the SNCF train on to Collioure which is a short 25 minute journey.
If you are coming from the UK, the Eurostar has frequent services from London to Paris which takes 2.5 hours and connects with the TGV to Perpignan. You can also put your car on the train and travel in comfort overnight to arrive in Collioure next morning.

By Car
The distance by road from Paris to Collioure is approximately 950km (600 miles). For those coming from the UK by ferry, the distance from Calais is approximately 1,100km (700 miles) and from Le Havre is 950km (600 miles). These are therefore 10-15 hours drives and will probably require an overnight stopover on the way down.
